My involvment with the Terrier Bakery

Hello! My name is Amy Lyon and I am involved with the Terrier Bakery at Hiram College. I am in Ella Kirk’s First-Year seminar class “Transforming Dough: Sweet Success.” So far this class has been extremely fun and a real joy! But even more than that I love working in the bakery! On Tuesday and Thursday nights, you can find me mixing up dough wearing an apron and a hat. I am a freshman at Hiram College, and I hope that I can be involved with the Terrier Bakery in some way during my next three years. I really like being a baker because I love learning and working with new recipes. I find it exciting and joyful watching the ingredients I put together turn into cookies, brownies, etc. I see the Terrier Bakery being even more successful in the future and I am happy to be a part of it!!!             

The Perfect Mixture

            Hello everyone! My name is Samantha Martinek, and I am a current First Year here at Hiram College.  I am a double Major in Biology and French.  Besides doing my academic studies, I am also a member of the Terrier Bakery’s Bread Team. Chances are, if you’re eating one of our Monkey Muffins (SO GOOD), I made the icing, and possibly even the dough!  Along with being a baker, I also carry many different responsibilities on campus. I currently am a Hiram College Cheerleader, both basketball and football, the Student Senate Vice President of Communication, and also, a dance team member.   I love to be involved in campus, and will be hopefully continue to grow and prepare for my future career.  Come and visit us at the Terrier Trader!

Dana's World

Hello! My name is Dana. I am a part of the baking team at the Terrier Bakery here at Hiram College! Entering this year, I was the newbie in the bakery eager to learn how to bake in a real bakery I have learned many new things that are needed to know! I love to bake in my free time at home, but working a successful bakery was a completely new experience! As part of the pastry team I help with making cookie dough and pastries.  I look forward to trying new recipes! My favorite part of this wonderful experience is smelling the delicious cookies as they are just coming out of the oven.
